Freedom
-What is freedom? According to Noah Webster, freedom is: a state of exemption from the power or control of another. Freedom is: liberty; exemption from slavery, servitude, or confinement. Freedom is personal, civil, political, and religious.
-Just from that we can understand that freedom is personal, civil, political, and religious. Here, in the United States of America, we have SO much freedom. We have the freedom to worship whomever, wherever, and whenever we want without having to worry about losing our lives. We are so blessed to be able to worship the one true God and freely talk about Him without any fear of persecution.
--In many, many other countries and places they don't have the privilege of worshiping freely. One of the countries that hits close to home for me, and I'm sure Autumn as well, is China. We have some dear sweet friends that live in China. Other countries that do not have freedom of religion are Burma, Egypt, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.
---Do you realize what this means? It means that EVERY single day, Christian's in these countries, have to fear for their lives and for the lives of their loved ones.
-Religious freedom is not the only freedom that many countries are deprived of. Many countries give no voice to their people. As of 2009 the United Sates had 86% voice. That means that someone who lives in the U.S. is able to be heard and is allowed to have SO much freedom. Sadly, this isn't the case for many more countries. Egypt only had 15% voice, Tunisia had 11%, Iran had 8%, Saudi Arabia only had 4%! And finally, North-Korea who had 0%!!! Can you believe that?? That means that people in North Korea basically have no freedom of speech, religion, or human rights. They can't voice their opinion's freely.
--That kind of puts things into perspective, right? I encourage each of you to commit to pray for these countries every day. I will add these countries into our prayer requests as a reminder. Keep serving the Lord dear girls and don't forget to thank God for your freedom and pray for those without freedom.
1 Thessalonians 5:17- Pray without ceasing.
Love you girls!!
God is GREAT! God is GOOD!
