"If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
                                            -- Psalm 139:9-10

Sarah and I have wanted to do a newsletter on this topic for a long time. All the places we have both traveled all summer long, God has been there with us. He has held us fast. We went to church camps and Bible clubs and 4- H camps and leadership conferences, and He took care of us all the way.

We both got the chance to spend a week at the beach with our families, and seeing the beauty that God has created there is truly incredible, "if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me." My trip was definitely an answer to prayers, that my whole family was able to go. We have not all been able to go anywhere on vacation in probably six years. My sister got married in March and moved to Mexico for six months, and after that she will be moving to Florida permanently. Of course we all wanted to go visit her. We would get to fly into Cancun and see Heather and Phil, and the beach all at once! My family had never done anything like this! We had never flown all together, some of us not at all, and we surely hadn't flown anywhere like Cancun just for fun! We go on mission trips and to girls retreats, and things like that. We wanted to go, but we could not go if God did not provide the way. We prayed that He would guide us, and He did. It was beautiful!

Recently, it seems like maybe the far side of the sea is a safer place to be than here in our own homeland. All across the U.S, people are experiencing floods and fires, and droughts, and hurricanes. Yesterday I woke up at 7:30 just minutes before experiencing my first earthquake. My whole house shook and everything on the walls, and you could hear it kind of rattle. It wasn't bad, but it was epic. This again was a testimony to God's power:

"He looketh on the earth, and it
                  trembleth; he toucheth the hills,
                       and they smoke."
                                                 ~Psalm 104: 32

Wherever we go, He will be with us.
