The Summer of Our Christian Life
You Probably remember that in March I talked about the first season of our Christian lives and that was the Spring or Growing Time. This next season is like the Summer of our lives. This is the time when we continue to grow in Christ. As we grow in Him we begin to have a greater friendship with Him and we are able to have more challenging conversations with Him. We never stop growing in Christ. There is always something that you can learn. The Summer of our Christian life is also a time when Satan will attack us more and more. He will do all that he can to keep you relationship with Christ from developing to the next level. Sometimes it can get really hard to stand up to Satan and to overcome all the temptations that he sends our way. But God is greater! He is ALWAYS there. He never leaves when it gets rough. During this time in our life we usually let other things come up and take priority in our lives and we spend
more and more of our time, energy, and devotion to those things. That isn't good because when our focus isn't on God, Satan will be able to trick us into sinning more easily. I'm definitely not saying that you can't hang out with friends, play video games, watch TV, or do other fun stuff, just remember that God should have priority in your life. Make sure He is the center of your devotion!
Every day we grow in Christ, stay strong in Him! -Ephesians 6:10- Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might!
God is GREAT! God is GOOD!

                                 Honor Thy Mother.....
Wow! It's kind of hard for me to believe that it's already Mother's Day again! Whenever I think about Mother's Day I always think of way's I can honor my mother on this special occasion. I mean, seriously! She carried me in her womb for 9 months! And then, as if that wasn't hard enough, she gave birth to me and raised me! She deserves honor for sure! Most of the time when we think about the verse in Exodus chapter 20 that says "Honor thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee." I always think about what it means to honor someone. Immediately obedience comes to mind, especially when I think about that verse. But what does it really mean to honor someone? In Noah Webster's American Dictionary of the English Language it says that to honor means to Respect, to treat with Deference and Submission. So honoring isn't just about obedience. It's so much more than that. It's about respect, deference, and submission. So treat your mother with respect. She deserves it. Obey her, God commands us to do so. Submit to her authority. She knows a whole lot more about life than you do. Remember, at one point, she was just as old as you are. And chances are, she went through the same thing you are going through. So you see, honoring your mother doesn't just take place once a year on Mother's Day. It's an all the time thing. She deserves your honor. This Mother's Day see what you can do to make her job just a little bit easier. Do what you can. No matter if it's big or small, do something. It means a lot to mother's to have their kids do something for them! :) But don't just help your mother out once a year, do it every day and whenever you get the chance! If you see something that needs to be done, go ahead and do it! Oh and obviously, don't forget to tell your mom that you love her! Mom's love to hear that!
God is GREAT! God is GOOD!
    <3SarahElisabeth

Hey girls :) I bet ya'll have something awesome planned for tomorrow... I did. Haha, my present didn't come yet in the mail so my mom will get a belated surprise sometime next week I hope! This Mother's Day has been different for me. I'm getting ready to graduate high school next week, and I've been thinking a lot about how much my mom has invested in me throughout my life. She has taught me so much. I've also realized how our relationship has changed over the years. She doesn't just help me like a mom who ties her daughter's hair bows anymore. She has put so much time into all the paperwork I've been dealing with for scholarships and the like; she's hauled me all over Texas so I could reach my goals. She has been a friend, the best of friends. Seriously, who else would put up with me like she does? But way too often, I just take it for granted because she's my mom. I just imagine it's her job. Guess what? It's not! Yes, she had a responsibility to help feed and clothe me as a little girl and to try to teach me what she knows, but she does NOT have to do all that she does to make my life better. Not even close! MY job is to be grateful to her and show her honor. Titus 2:3-5 talks about letting the older women teach the younger women. As we get older and we are given more freedom, I believe this verse applies our mother-daughter relationships as much as any verse that specifically calls out parents and children. Part of the honor we are asked to give her from the very beginning is to learn from her as a woman. The more we are willing to learn, the more we will develop a true friendship and this is a friendship that will last. Our mothers and our sisters are the friends that GOD picked out for us. Other friends will come and go, but we will always have them. Remember that. Value them. I've learned this lesson over and over, and it keeps coming back again. Friends mean well, but things happen, and they disappear or fade away. Only one friend here on earth has stood by me since the day I was born, and that is my mom. Take advantage of the years you have with her, and be the best friend you can be, because she probably already is, and she deserves it!

    keep smiling,

    autumn clare

      A Savior For Easter
A great many years ago God's only Son died on the cross to take away our sins. And we celebrate Easter because of that. Let me back up, and start from the beginning.
Jesus, God's only Son, came to earth and was born of a virgin. Mary had never been with a man. Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem, because there was no room for the Son of God in any of the inn's. He, the Righteous Son of Almighty God, was born in a simple old barn with animal's all around. He was then wrapped in rags and laid into a feeding trough for animals, called a manger. The highest of King's was born in the lowest of places. But thats not even the end of this wonderful story.
Jesus grew up without ever telling a lie, he never argued, He didn't even hit His brother, He NEVER sinned. He was perfect!
He grew into a man, performing many miracles, preaching all the time, and showing love to anyone that came near unto Him. But, sadly, while He was doing all of this, there were men plotting out His death.
One night, He was in the garden praying when soldiers came and took Him away. Pilate, then sentenced Him to death on the cross. Before He was to die on the cross, they stripped Him of His clothes and beat Him.
The way they beat Him was called the "Roman Half Death". Most of the people that experienced this horrible form of torture died before they were even taken to the cross. The Roman soldiers would take a whip that had pieces of glass, clay pots, bones, and rocks tied into it and they would whip their victim. They whipped Jesus 39 times with this horrible whip! Before they took Jesus to the cross He had huge tears in His back, legs, and arms.
After He had gone through this horrible beating they took a crown with HUGE thorns and they pounded it into His head. They then took a beautiful scarlet robe, placed it on His shoulders, and mocked Him. He was then led on a long path up the hill to the place where He was to die. Not only did He have to walk all the way up that hill, but He had to carry His massive, heavy, wooden cross. All along the way there were people spitting on Him, making fun of Him, ridiculing Him. He was so weak from His beating and the loss of blood that He stumbled many, many times. Soon, after watching Him stumble so many times, one of His disciples came and helped Him to carry the cross.
Finally they reached the top of the hill. They laid Jesus on the cross and drove nails into His wrists and into His feet. Then they hung a sign above His head that said "This is Jesus, King of the Jews!"
They heaved the cross into an upright position, and there, Jesus hung. And there on that cross, He died. He died with thieves on each side of Him. Y'all, this was the Son of God! Jesus died the fastest death ever, on that cross. After He died, they laid Him in a tomb. But, that is not the end of this story. It gets much better!
3 days later He rose from the dead! And now, He lives in Heaven where it is perfect. The only way we can get to Heaven is to be perfect. But it is impossible to be perfect because we have all sinned. And with sin, you can't enter Heaven. Jesus' death on the cross was to take away our sins, so that we could then be perfect. Washed in His blood. Our sins forgiven! To get to Heaven you must believe in your heart that God loves you so much, and that Jesus did all of this for you so that when you die, you may go to Heaven to be with Jesus!
Have you ever told God that you know He loves you? Have you ever acknowledged that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He died on the cross to take away your sins? If you haven't, I encourage you to do that. We have no idea when we are going to die. It could be at any time! I've done it. And now I know that when I die, I will go to Heaven to be with Jesus for the rest of eternity. But the best part of it all, is that I know that no matter what I do, I can NEVER lose my salvation! Wouldn't you like to get a Savior for Easter? It's better than anything the world can offer. Accept His free gift. :)

~John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
~John 14:2-3- In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
~Romans 3:23- For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.
~Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
~Hebrews 9:22- And most all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
~Hebrews 13:5-...For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
~1 John 1:9- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

God is GREAT! God is GOOD!

    Hey ya'll!
Some of ya'll know I went to Ecuador on a constuction mission trip a couple weeks ago. I got to meet a lot of Ecuadorians and I tried to get to know them as best I could! It really frustrated me that I did not know Spanish. :(
But spending eleven days with them I got where I used the Spanish that I did know and could joke around a little with them. While I was there I met Jelissa! :))) She is a very sweet thirteen year old who lives on the river. She is studying the Bible right now but has not yet become a Christian, I told her I would be praying for her this year and that I hoped I would see her next year (or sooner!). Her uncle was baptized last year and he was the first person in that part of the jungle to be baptized... now there are about thirteen or fourteen converts and a bunch more people like her, coming to church and studying! The people there are so excited to be hearing about the Gospel since it is all brand new to them. I am so excited for them and I want to go back as soon as I can :) We were down there building a new church for them because the building they are using now is not big enough to hold all the people who want to come! Please be praying for all the Ecuadorians on the Cayapas River! Lots of them want to become Christians but they really will have to leave everything they've ever known, it is a HUGE leap of faith for them. Going down there and seeing all these brand new Christians and how sincere they are in their faith was really encouraging to me and I just wanted to share a little bit of my trip with ya'll.
    thanks!

    Growing in Christ
•Springtime. Definitely a happy and cheerful time. It's when flowers start popping up all over the place, the grass gets greener, and everything starts to grow. Just like the four seasons in our year, we, as Christians, have seasons in our lives.
    •Our seasons
-A time to be born and get started. This is the spring of our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "If any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new." When we accept Jesus into our hearts we have become new. It's just like being born again. As new believers we are a lot like little babies. We need a lot of care and attention as well as food. For new Christians I'm not talking about actual food. ;) I'm talking about spiritual food. As Christians our food is the Word of God. God is our source of strength. We rely on Him to get us through every day and to teach us.
-Growing takes a lot of work. It takes commitment and devotion. We can grow by reading the Bible, praying, and serving God. Over time we will grow stronger, if we continue to stay devoted to Christ. 2 Peter 3:18 says "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen."
-This month I encourage you to seek the Lord. 1) Read His Word. Study the Bible. 2) Have a conversation with Him. Remember, He always hears you when you pray and He is your friend. 3) Serve God. Find a way that you can serve Him. It could be something as simple as helping your mom make supper or it could be something as big as joining the choir at church or telling somebody about how much God loves them. Whatever you do, do it for God! Also, I would love to hear how you have served our Heavenly Father and learn what you have been reading in your Bible. Hope to hear back from ya'll!

P.S. I will be doing the other 3 seasons as their corresponding seasons come up! :)

I'm an artist. I paint, draw, doodle, whatever. When I grow up... haha... I want to be a graphic designer. I love art! In fact, every time I pick up a pen/pencil and start doodling, I think I develop my brain a little more. Sometimes I don't feel very smart. I can't focus on a book at all, even if it's important and I desperately need to, but I can draw for hours. But that's the talent God has given me. I can draw anything. Not that I always want to. But when people ask me how, I really don't know how to answer. It comes natural to me. Everything I draw or paint was painted by God first. All I do is copy it! He created all of it before I was ever born and I'm so glad He blessed me with the talent to copy what I see, that he created, with my brushes and paints. He is THE artist! Praise Him! Sometimes people laugh when I tell them I paint all the time. You see, I may not have a brush in my hand, but when I'm riding in the car anywhere I am painting in my mind. The strokes He makes are so clear and perfect. I love picking out what brush to use for each one (yes, still mentally ;) and yet He does it all in one breath. This time of year is a great reminder of His creativity. It is unfathomable.

I've actually never heard this song, but I saw the lyrics a while back and they have stuck with me ever since, so I thought I would share them with ya'll today. Thank you Google!

Who paints the skies into glorious day?
    Only the splendor of Jesus
Who breathes his life into fists of clay?
    Only the splendor of Jesus
Who shapes the valleys and brings the rain?
    Only the splendor of Jesus
Who makes the desert to live again?
    Only the splendor of Jesus

Teach every nation His marvelous ways
Each generation shall sing His praise

    He is wonderful
    He is glorious
    Clothed in righteousness
    Full of tenderness
    Come and worship him
He is the prince of light
    He will cleanse our hearts
    In his river of fire

As this spring comes and goes, ya'll look around at God's power and thank Him for it. It is so beautiful. It is His way of saying He loves you. He has the same power and creativity in each of our lives, and He is molding them into His perfect vessel as we speak. Did I mention He's a great sculptor too? Let Him have His handiwork! And let your smile be sunshine to the world for Jesus :)

    keep smiling,
